The Millennium Green provides an open air centre for the village.
A playing field, all-weather paths, protected play area for children, picnic table and a wildflower meadow provide recreation for all with equal access for those with disabilities.
A true breathing space!
A tall Millennium Stone provides a focus and has a time capsule at its base, buried to mark the opening of the Green in 2001. The Green is used for open-air events such as fêtes and, in 2007, a 'Toys for Boys' day. These, and other fund-raising activities such as quizzes, race nights and even a Blues Night, pay for the costs of maintenance and help to stimulate village life.

New play equipment on the Millennium Green

Current and forthcoming activities:
- "Tea" on the Green had to be moved to the pub at the last minute because of heavy rain. But we filled the pub with people and had a great evening with music from Ella Kendrick, the Stone Brothers and Ladbroke Rockers. The event raised money for the Millennium Green, the Church, the Village Hall and the HS2 Action Group.
- The 2010 Ladbroke Fete (click here for photos). By lunchtime the stalls were up, the running tracks marked out and cakes, tea and beer were being brought in. We had a busy and fun afternoon featuring a band, wonderful dancing and an impressive Civil War Display with horsemanship that amazed everybody. The last event was the Tug-of-War organised by Peter Lambert. A tough test for the men of the village.
The Fete was run by the Millennium Green committee to raise funds to maintain the Green but it also hosted a Bric-a-Brac Stall for the Church, a Tombola raising money for the Hall and the popular tea and cake stall run by the WI. The beer tent was run this year by the Bell Inn for the benefit of the Green.
- We have a Hallowe'en Night coming up on 30 October.
- We held a Boules Competition on the Green in September - an unorthodox and enjoyable event. Click here to see some photos.
